Can Capitalists Afford Economic Growth?

This 2D animation is a bespoke production commissioned for the CasP-Capital as Power project by BNArchives at York University and supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).

Using clear visual metaphors and simple charts, the narrator walks viewers through a complex and surprising analysis of capitalism’s relationship to economic growth, as detailed in the paper “Can Capitalists Afford Recovery?” By translating this academic work to the screen, a general audience can thus be introduced to CasP’s key theories and data-driven methods.
